The 2022 Women’s T20 Asia Cup will begin on October 1 — here are the squad and full team list of six-time champions India Women for the tournament.

Bangladesh will host Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2022, the eighth edition of the tournament and the fourth in Twenty20 Internationals format. Apart from the hosts, the tournament will also feature India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia, and the United Arab Emirates. The seven teams will play in a round-robin league format between October 1 and October 11. The top four teams will then clash in the semi-finals, on October 13, followed by the final on October 15. All matches will be played at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

India Women have won all four ODI editions of the Asia Cup and the first two played in Twenty20 format. Their run came to an end in 2018, when Bangladesh won a last-ball thriller against them in the final, at Kuala Lumpur. Bangladesh will become the seventh nation to host the tournament, after Sri Lanka, Pakistan, India, China, Thailand, and Malaysia.

After losing a lone Twenty20 International in New Zealand in February, India Women did not play another T20I until their Sri Lanka tour in June. They won that series 2-1 before winning the silver medal at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games in July and August. In September, they lost the T20Is in England 1-2.

Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the Indian side, and there are few surprises. India have retained Kiran Navgire, who was picked for the Women’s T20 Challenge and the England tour on the back of a prolific domestic season.
