The last leg of India’s 2023 tour of the West Indies will include a five-match T20I series that starts on August 3 and concludes on August 13. The first three of the five games will be played across Trinidad and Guyana before both teams fly across to the USA for the final two games of the series, which will be played in Lauderhill.
Both teams have named their squads for the series, with India focusing on a younger-looking side and the hosts naming a near-full-strength squad.
West Indies v India T20Is 2023: Team News and Injury Updates
West Indies have recalled the trio of Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope, and Oshane Thomas for the T20I series. To explain Thomas’s selection, West Indies chief selector Desmond Haynes said that they wanted players with ‘X-factors’ and ‘express pace’.
He added that the squad has been selected keeping the 2024 T20 World Cup in mind, as the likes of Shamarh Brooks, Sheldon Cottrell, Raymon Reifer, and Yannic Cariah have been left out from their last T20I squad that won 2-1 against South Africa.

India, on the other hand, bear a slightly new look. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tilak Varma have got maiden call-ups to the T20I side, while Hardik Pandya continues to lead in the shortest format, with Suryakumar Yadav as his deputy.
Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravi Bishnoi make up India’s spin attack, while Ravindra Jadeja has been rested. Rinku Singh, who was widely expected to make the cut for this series, has instead been named for the Ireland tour and the Asian Games.
