India will take on West Indies in a three ODIs in the Caribbean from July 27. Here are the WI vs IND 2023 ODIs squads, full team lists, player news, and injury updates.

The West Indies will host India for three ODIs, at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados on July 27 and 29, and at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad on August 1.

India won the two-match Test series 1-0. After the ODIs, the teams will play five T20Is – three in the West Indies and two in the USA.

India hold a 70-63 lead in ODIs, but since the start of 2010, that count reads 32-9, including 13-1 in the last 15 matches and 8-0 in the last eight. On West Indian soil, the hosts hold a 20-19 advantage, but India lead 12-4 since the start of 2010.

India

India will be led by Rohit Sharma, while Hardik Pandya has been named his deputy. They have included Mukesh Kumar, the uncapped Bengal, who returned match figures of 2-53 on his Test debut, at Port of Spain. The West Indies are yet to name their squad for the series.

Virat Kohli’s 2,261 runs (at 66.50 and a strike rate of 97) are the most by anyone against the West Indies. No one else even has 2,000 runs against them. Kohli also has nine hundreds against them while no one else has six.

Two hundreds will take Kohli’s count to 11 – the most by a batter against any opposition. Kohli will go past his own record of 10 hundreds against Sri Lanka.

West Indies

The hosts recalled Shimron Hetmyer in the ODI squad – the 26-year-old last represented the West Indies in the format in 2021. Also making a comeback is Oshane Thomas, who hasn’t featured in ODIs since January 2020. Nicholas Pooran was unavailable for selection, so was Jason Holder.
