WI vs IND 2023, fourth T20I: News and updates

After a thumping victory in the third T20I, thanks to a resurgent Suryakumar Yadav’s 83 off 44 balls, a buoyant India will look to level the series in the fourth T20I against West Indies on August 12. Meanwhile, the Men in Maroon lead the series 2-1 and will eye for a series triumph, salvaging their humiliating 2023 ODI World Cup ouster in July.

Playing at Lauderhill, Florida, India’s spinners hold the key to their bowling success. The trio of Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal fared well in their last game. Yadav was the best of the lot, as he claimed three wickets in his bowling quota, leaking just 28 runs.

In the batting department, India’s newly-found dependable middle-order batter Tilak Varma will look to continue his rich vein of form. His scores in the series read – 39(22), 51(41) and 49*(37). The visitors should persist with Yashasvi Jaiswal after a rare failure on debut.

Nicholas Pooran is vital for the hosts for his brute power in the middle overs. Having already contributed handsomely in the first three T20Is, he will aim to seal the series off for his side. Pooran struck a destructive 67 off 40 deliveries in the second T20I, catapulting his team to a victory.

Alzarri Joseph, the pick of the West Indies bowlers from last time around, will be eager to come good as well. Despite SKY’s blitzkrieg, he finished with figures of 2/25 from his four overs.

WI vs IND 2023, fourth T20I: Dream11 fantasy tips

# Central Broward Regional Park is conducive to batting and it’s wise for a captain to bat first after winning the toss as records suggest that batting teams have won 11 out of 14 T20I matches played at the venue. The average first innings score is 160 runs.

# India will keep faith in Yashasvi Jaiswal as their opener and will expect him to emulate his IPL 2023 powerplay exploits. Jaiswal’s strike rate of 175 is the highest among batters with 200 runs in the first six overs.

# Johnson Charles has an excellent record playing at Lauderhill as he is second on the list of all-time run scorers at this ground behind Rohit Sharma. Charles has 182 runs from four matches, striking at 152.94 and averaging 45.50.

# Often in the news for lack of opportunities in Indian colours, Sanju Samson has somehow failed to crack the T20I code. He averages 18.82 from 20 outings, having a lone 50 under his belt.

# Nicholas Pooran is in some serious form. Having played a blinder of an innings in MLC 2023 final, Pooran has notched up scores of 41(34), 67(40) and 20(12). The runs have come at a strike-rate of 148.83 and at an average of 42.66.

# Kuldeep Yadav’s figures of 4-28-3 in the third T20I have catapulted him to the zenith on the list comprising the fastest Indians to take 50 T20I wickets. In a batting paradise, the crafty wrist-spinner will come in handy.
