England will take on West Indies in a three-match Test series from March 8 in the Caribbean — here’s the full squad and team list for WI vs ENG 2022.
After the 0-4 defeat in the Ashes Down Under in January, England have made a number of changes to their squad as they take on West Indies in a three-match series, including dropping veterans James Anderson and Stuart Broad. There are as many as six more casualties from the Ashes, with Dawid Malan, Dom Bess, Sam Billings, Rory Burns, Jos Buttler and Haseeb Hameed not getting a spot either. England have offered maiden call-ups to Alex Lees, Durham’s opening partner, and Matthew Fisher, a fast bowler from Yorkshire, while Saqib Mahmood and Matt Parkinson have been added to the squad as well. Ben Foakes returns and will be in contention as the first-choice wicketkeeper.
England will be led by Joe Root, with Paul Collingwood as the head coach after the sacking of Chris Silverwood.
The hosts, on the other hand, have named their squad for the first Test, which will be played in Antigua. Anderson Phillip has been given his maiden call-up in place of Shannon Gabriel, who continues to recover from an injury. John Campbell and Shamarh Brooks have been included in the 13-member squad as well, which has no place for Roston Chase, Shai Hope and Rahkeem Cornwall.
Anderson has played one ODI for West Indies last year, against Sri Lanka.
