West Indies have handed all-rounders Sherfane Rutherford and Matthew Forde their maiden ODI call-ups. Apart from the two debutants, wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich has made a comeback, having last played an ODI in 2019 along with opener Kjorn Ottley, who featured in two outings against Bangladesh in January 2021.
Nicholas Pooran and Jason Holder were unavailable for selection due to prioritising other formats – both are currently taking part in the Abu Dhabi T10. Shai Hope will lead the hosts.
For England, Jos Buttler remains the leader of the 15-member squad despite their dismal World Cup 2023 run. Buttler, Harry Brook, Gus Atkinson, Sam Curran, Liam Livingstone and Brydon Carse are the six players retained from the World Cup contingent, as many senior players have been given a break ahead of the Test series against India in January.
