Watch: In the second ODI at North Sound, England opted for a bold review that resulted in a wicket for Gus Atkinson.

West Indies had chased down 326 in the first ODI, at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua, to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

England opted to bowl in the second match, at the same venue, and opened bowling with Sam Curran and Gus Atkinson against Brandon King and Alick Athanaze.

Atkinson found his rhythm straight away, conceding only a single in his first over, and stayed accurate with the first four balls of his second. He pitched the fifth ball in off stump and brought it into the left-handed Athanaze, who failed in a last-ditch effort to keep his bat away.

The ball zoomed very close to the bat, and Jos Buttler dived to his left to take an excellent catch. England appealed, but did not get the decision in their favour. Buttler reviewed, UltraEdge revealed a spike – though the ball was also very close to the pocket of the batter’s trousers – and Athanaze had to walk back.

Atkinson later caught Alzarri Joseph off his own bowling to finish with 2-28 as the West Indies collapsed for 202. England won with six wickets and 103 balls in hand.
