Tongue picked up an injury during the ongoing England Lions training camp in the UAE, and has been ruled out of both the three match ODI series and the five match T20I series. No further details of his injury have been given.

Potts, who is also part of the training camp currently in the UAE, has been called up as his replacement for the ODI series. No update has been given on Tongue’s replacement for the T20I series. Potts has three ODI caps to his name, the most recent of which came against Ireland in September.

The three-match ODI series will begin in Antigua on Sunday, December 3, with the following match on December 6 set to be played at the same venue. The final match of the series will be played on December 9 in Barbados, which will also host the first game of the T20I series on December 12.

Tongue has yet to make his international white ball debut, having made his Test debut against Ireland at Lord’s this year. He subsequently played the Lord’s Ashes Test, in which he took five wickets including dismissing Steve Smith and David Warner twice.
