With this win, Australia defeated India in a third straight ICC tournament final within eight months after their senior side beat them in the World Test Championship 2021-23 and 2023 ODI World Cup final.

Australia triumph over India, again

India’s wretched luck in the ICC tournament finals continued as nothing went right for Uday Saharan’s men in the summit clash. After opting to bat first, Australia reached 253-7, riding on Harjas Singh’s 55 off 64 balls and Oliver Peake’s gritty unbeaten 46 off 43 balls. Opener Harry Dixon (42 off 56) and captain Hugh Weibgen (48 off 66) chipped in to help Australia rack up the highest-ever U19 World Cup final total. With figures of 3-38 off his 10 overs, Raj Limbani was the pick of the India bowlers.

Chasing the record target, India fell like nine pins as seven batters recorded single-digit scores. Opener Adarsh Singh, top-scoring with 47 off 77 and Murugan Abhishek (42 off 46) tried to show some defiance but their efforts went in vain as India were skittled out for 174.

Mahli Beardman was awarded the Player of the Match for his brilliant spell of 3-15 off seven overs. He neutralised the threat of Musheer Khan and Saharan cheaply before dismissing Adarsh, who was nearing his half-century.
