New Zealand announced their jersey for the upcoming T20 World Cup today (April 29), a month ahead of the start of the event.

What does New Zealand’s T20 World Cup jersey look like?

Along with the announcement of their squad for the tournament, New Zealand Cricket also unveiled a new jersey for the T20 World Cup to be held in the West Indies and the USA, today (April 29).

Their new kit is a retro-inspired jersey that pays tribute to their 1999 World Cup kit. With very little black in the jersey, the primary colour is aquamarine with the team name emblazoned across the chest on a white strip.

The traditional silver fern has also been done away with and has been replaced by the Southern Cross.

The reactions to the jersey have been mixed. While the retro aquamarine hue has been liked by many, the absence of the traditional black colour associated with the “BlackCaps” has not gone down well with a section of fans.

The new jersey will be available for sale from tomorrow (April 30) on the NZC store.

Meanwhile, New Zealand have also announced their 15-member squad for the tournament. Kane Williamson will lead them, while Devon Conway will return after missing the IPL due to a thumb injury.

South Africa, Namibia, Nepal, Uganda announce their T20 World Cup jerseys too

Cricket South Africa also unveiled their jersey for the T20 World Cup on April 28. With a focus on yellow, the vibrant looking jersey sports strips in the colours of the national flag along the shoulders.

Namibia revealed their jersey with familiar shades of dark blue fading into a lighter tone towards the bottom of the t-shirt.
