ICC T20 World Cup: India to start campaign on June 5

The India squad arrived in North America directly after the end of the 2024 IPL, which was won by Kolkata Knight Riders in the final on Sunday, May 26. Virat Kohli has not yet joined up with the squad, having taken a break after Royal Challengers Bengaluru were knocked out of the IPL, and is expected to miss the fixture.

Bangladesh have already played a three-match series against the USA, which concluded last week, in preparation for the tournament. They were beaten in the first two games, giving USA their first ever T20I win and series win over a full member nation.

India will begin their ICC World Cup campaign against Ireland in New York on June 5. They will stay in New York for the marquee clash against Pakistan on June 9, as well as for their third group stage game against the USA on June 12. Their final group stage game will be against Canada in Florida on June 15.

Bangladesh will begin their campaign against Sri Lanka in Texas on June 7, before heading to New York to play South Africa. They will then play the Netherlands in Kingstown, where they will also play Nepal.
