Watch: Arshdeep Singh had a dream start to his T20 World Cup career, pinning Babar Azam lbw for a golden duck with his first delivery in the competition to begin the India-Pakistan clash with a bang.

The India left-armer located significant inswing, beating the bat of the Pakistan captain to secure a huge early breakthrough for Rohit Sharma’s side.

India won the toss and chose to bowl, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar putting up a tight first over, which cost just a single.

However, that was just a warm-up for the main event, with Arshdeep delivering a special first over in World Cup cricket. His first ball claimed the massive wicket of Babar, moving inwards in the air to hit him on the pad, with a review unable to save the No.3 ranked batter in the ICC T20I rankings.

He followed up with three more dot balls, beating Shan Masood’s bat twice, before the pressure almost told. The Pakistan No.3 set off for a suicidal single, only for Virat Kohli to miss the run out opportunity. Mohammad Rizwan tickled the final ball fine for four, but the damage had been done.
