New Zealand will begin their T20 World Cup 2022 campaign on October 22 against Australia at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground – here is the T20 WC New Zealand schedule, containing the full list of fixtures and match timings.

After making it to the top four in 2007 and 2016, New Zealand reached the final of the T20 World Cup for the first time in 2021. However, Australia beat them comfortably, with eight wickets and seven balls in hand. In this edition, they have been clubbed with hosts Australia, England, and Afghanistan, along with two teams from the First Round, in Group 1 of the Super 12s.

New Zealand have had an unusual, if successful, year so far. They do have a 9-1 record in 2022, but that includes 3-0 in Ireland, 2-0 in Scotland, 2-0 in the Netherlands, and 2-1 in the West Indies. All these teams (along with Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Namibia, and the UAE) will have to battle for two spots in the Super 12s. However, ahead of the World Cup, New Zealand will host Pakistan and Bangladesh for a T20 Tri-Series.

With the sole exception of Tim Seifert, New Zealand have retained ten members from the XI that featured in last year’s World Cup final against Australia in Dubai. The exciting Finn Allen – who strikes at 170 in T20Is and 174 in all Twenty20 cricket – has got a much-deserved call-up, while Michael Bracewell’s all-round abilities have helped him earn a place.

In an encore of last year’s final, New Zealand will start the tournament with a match against Australia in Sydney. They will then travel to Melbourne to play Afghanistan before returning to Sydney to play the table toppers of Group A in the First Round, which consists of Sri Lanka, Namibia, Netherlands, and UAE. Three days later, they play England in Brisbane, followed by a match against the runners-up of Group B (West Indies, Zimbabwe, Ireland, Scotland) in Adelaide.
