Australia announced a 15-member squad for T20 World Cup 2022 — here is the complete team list for the upcoming edition, including standby players, injury news and recent updates for the side.

The defending champions, led by Aaron Finch, have added fire-power to their squad by including big-hitter Tim David in their 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup. The tournament, which will be held Down Under, will begin on October 16.

David, who completed the switch from Singapore and was eligible to play for Australia, replaces Mitchell Swepson from the 2021 T20 World Cup squad. It is the only change in the 15-member squad for Australia from the previous event.

The five-time ODI World Cup champions won their first T20 title last year in the UAE, beating New Zealand in the summit clash. All-rounder Mitchell Marsh was the star of the show, with an unbeaten 77 in 50 deliveries taking the team to an eight-wicket win in Dubai.

Australia will begin their campaign this year on October 22 in a re-match of the last edition’s finals. They will play New Zealand at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Update: Marsh is currently nursing an ankle injury, and is in doubt for the upcoming three-match T20I series against India, which begins on September 20. He was recently ruled out of the series against Zimbabwe and New Zealand but should be fit in time for the T20 World Cup.

The 15-member squad has four specialist batters in Aaron Finch, David Warner, David and Steve Smith with four all-rounders. Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins will once again lead the fast bowling attack.
