Australia will take on Afghanistan in a bid to qualify for the semi finals of the 2022 T20 World Cup in the second game on Friday, 3 November – here’s where to watch the match live on TV channels and live streaming.
The two sides have never faced each other in a T20 international match before, making their match in Adelaide an historic occasion.
Australia will need to win the match to give themselves the best possible chance of qualification for the semi finals. They currently sit on five points, level with both England and New Zealand after losing the first match of the tournament and sharing the points from a wash-out against England. The hosts and reigning champions will look to Marcus Stoinis to provide some of the power hitting he has already demonstrated in this tournament, as well as the in form David Warner.
Afghanistan are out of contention for qualifying, having only won one of their four matches. It’s been a difficult tournament for Afghanistan, after being touted as dark horses before the competition, rain meant two of their matches against Ireland and New Zealand were washed out, and they succumbed to heavy defeats to both England and Sri Lanka.
However, the Adelaide Oval is Rashid Khan’s home ground in the Big Bash tournament, making it pretty much a home away from home for the world class leg spinner if he is fully-fit for the clash. Australia will have to be careful not to be on the wrong side of upset if they let Rashid get on top of them.
