Watch: David Warner smashes bizarre Mohammad Hafeez double-bouncer for six

by Wisden Staff 2 minute read

Watch: David Warner sent a ball by Mohammad Hafeez that bounced twice for a huge six during Australia’s semi-final clash with Pakistan in Dubai on Thursday.

Hafeez lost control of the first ball that he bowled against Australia, as it first bounced near his foot and then bounced again before Warner sent it for a six over deep mid-wicket. The left-hander took a few steps to his right before crouching and smashed the ball for a maximum.

The all-rounder had to bowl the first ball of the eighth over again, as according to the MCC Clause 21.7 a no ball shall be signalled if the “ball which he/she considers to have been delivered, without having previously touched bat or person of the striker bounces more than once or rolls along the ground before it reaches the popping crease.”
