Sri Lanka will tour South Africa for two Tests beginning December 26 – here’s the complete schedule and fixtures list for the series.
The two-Test series will be part of the ICC Test Championship and will be held from December 26 to January 7. However, both teams are unlikely to make it to the final of the championship.
According to the schedule, the touring Sri Lanka side will feature in a three-day practice match against a Cricket South Africa Invitation XI. The match will be played in Benoni.
The Sri Lanka side, carrying an extended 21-member unit for the series, underwent a 10-day camp in Pallekele before flying out to South Africa. The team, led by Dimuth Karunaratne, includes five uncapped players and will be playing its first Test since Covid-19 brought the sport to a standstill.

Sri Lanka have won four out of the last five Tests against South Africa, including the incredible one-wicket win at Durban in February 2019, regarded as one of the greatest chases in Test history.
After Sri Lanka’s visit, South Africa will travel to Pakistan for two Tests and three T20Is, their first tour to the country since 2007.
