Watch: Rassie van der Dussen, fielding at short-leg, clung on to a sharp chance to get his side the first breakthrough of the second session during the opening day of the second South Africa-India Test at Johannesburg.

There were a number of chances for the South Africa close-in fielders as their bowlers bumped in the ball and troubled the India batters with the short deliveries. Finally, Rassie van der Dussen plucked out a difficult chance to get rid of India’s comeback man Hanuma Vihari.

Kagiso Rabada delivered a ball which lifted off the pitch, taking Vihari’s glove on the way, and ballooned towards the legside. Rassie pounced to his left, and managed to take a one-handed stunner.

One of the commentators said, “Ah, he’s got it. Eventually, Rassie van der Dussen has got his catch. It’s landed all around him the whole Test match so far, but this time he launches himself to the left. He has his first.”
