Watch: Virat Kohli was in a joyous mood during India’s innings against South Africa in the second ODI, and even displayed his dance moves after a one-handed six by Rishabh Pant.

Kohli, who was recently replaced as India’s ODI skipper, and gave up the Test captaincy following India’s 1-2 defeat to South Africa, was in good spirits in the second ODI on Friday. Despite being dismissed for a duck off Keshav Maharaj, Kohli was seen cheering on Pant after the wicketkeeper smashed a one-handed six on the last ball of the 28th over. The wicketkeeper raced down the track to Tabraiz Shamsi and lofted the ball towards wide long-on as his bottom hand came off the bat. The cameras zoomed in on India’s balcony following the hit, before fixing itself on Kohli, who was seen grooving with his right hand in the air, as Shikhar Dhawan, seated beside him, struggled to control his laughter.

Pant was eventually dismissed for 85, and India managed 287 runs in their quota of 50 overs.

After run-ins with the BCCI president Sourav Ganguly in a press conference ahead of India’s departure to South Africa, it was reported that the former India cricketer was keen to issue a show-cause notice to Kohli. Kohli’s sudden decision to give up Test captaincy comes in the wake of recent incidents between him and Ganguly, and seeing the RCB player in light-hearted spirits left many fans delighted.
