The inaugural edition of the No Honking Twenty20 series will be contested between three teams. Here’s all you need to know about the match schedule, TV channels and live-streaming details of the competition.
On September 14, the Road Safety World Series unveiled a new series by the name of ‘No Honking T20 Series’ to sensitise the general public to the urgent need for a safer environment on Indian roads. The three-match white-ball encounter will be played between September 16 and 18. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose ground at Mira-Bhayandar (West) in Mumbai will host this new initiative.
Promoted by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and the Ministry of Information & Technology and Youth Affairs & Sports Government of India, the clashes will see legends from three countries – India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka – come under one roof to support the noble cause.
In a country where cricket is revered by many, there’s no better tool than the sport to unite the public in spreading road awareness. The prescribed limit of the World Health Organization (WHO) regarding honking on roads is 53 decibels. India, the third-largest car market in the world, after China and the United States, currently has a horn level of over 85 decibels.
