Watch: Sachin Tendulkar turned back the clock by unleashing a trademark hook shot off Shane Bond during the Road Safety World Series 2022, a T20 league featuring retired players.

Tendulkar, playing for the India legends against New Zealand Legends, walked out to bat alongside Naman Ojha on Monday. In the first over itself, he signalled his intention to dominate, hitting a boundary off Kyle Mills. The best, though, was saved for Bond. On the third ball of the second over, Tendulkar rocked onto the back foot and smashed a hook past deep square leg for four. Thousands of fans in Indore were taken on a trip down memory lane, reliving Tendulkar’s genius in the flesh.

The India great scored 19 off 13 balls before rain interrupted proceedings. Unfortunately for the fans, only 5.5 overs were possible before the game was abandoned. When play was on, though, they were treated to some Tendulkar magic. And considering how intermittent his appearances on the field have been lately, you feel fans will remember this outing for a long time.
