The 2023/24 Ranji Trophy began on January 5, 2024. Here is the Hyderabad squad for Ranji Trophy 2024, including full team list and injury updates.

In 1937/38, Hyderabad became the third team to win the Ranji Trophy, after Bombay – now Mumbai (in 1934/35 and 1935/36) and Nawanagar – now Saurashtra (1936/37). However, since then, they have won the title only once, in 1986/87.

None of Hyderabad’s five appearances in the final has come in the last two decades either. Apart from the two titles, they made it in 1942/43 (lost to Baroda), 1964/65 (to Bombay), and 1999/00 (to Mumbai).

In 2022/23, they had a really ordinary season. They got away with a draw on home soil (chasing 144, Tamil Nadu were 108-1 in seven overs when time ran out) in their first match in Elite Group B, but lost the next six to finish last in the group.

Of the 32 teams across four Elite Groups, they finished with the fewest points (1). Along with Nagaland, they were relegated to the Plate Group for the 2023/24 edition.

Hyderabad began their season with an innings-and-194-run thrashing of Nagaland in Sovima. Their other matches will be against Meghalaya (at Shillong), Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, and Mizoram, in that order.
