The 2022/23 edition of the Plunket Shield began on October 18 – here is the schedule and full list of fixtures for New Zealand’s domestic tournament.
Plunket Shield 2022/23, will feature the usual six teams – Auckland Aces, Canterbury, Northern Districts, Central Stags, Otago Volts and Wellington Firebirds. This season’s Plunket Shield opening fixture took place on October 18 with all six teams in action. Defending champions Auckland Aces fell to a 168-run defeat to Otago Volts.
Each team will play eight matches each with the last round of matches starting on March 21, 2023. Defending champions Auckland Aces have won the Shield 24 times, which is the most in history.
