Pakistan v West Indies ODIs 2022: Full squad, team news and injury updates of PAK v WI

Pakistan West Indies ODI squad
by Wisden Staff 1 minute read

West Indies return to Pakistan to complete their white-ball tour that had been postponed in December last year due to Covid-19 — here’s the full squad and team list of PAK vs WI ODI 2022.

West Indies had travelled to Pakistan for a six-match white-ball series last December, playing three T20Is that would have been followed by three ODIs. While the T20Is were completed, the 50-over series was cancelled after a number of positive Covid-19 cases in the visiting camp.

Both teams, however, had agreed to resume the ODI series in June. The rescheduled matches will be held on June 8, June 10, and June 12 at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

Pakistan v West Indies: ODI squad news

The hosts have named a 16-member squad that marks the return of Shadab Khan. The leg-spinner had missed the recent series against Australia due to a groin injury and makes a comeback along with Mohammad Nawaz. Asif Afridi, Asif Ali, Haider Ali, and Usman Qadir are players who have not been picked from the squad that had been selected for the Australia ODIs.

West Indies, on the other hand, will travel with the same set of players who were selected for the tour of the Netherlands. Led by Nicholas Pooran, the side features three new faces, Jayden Seales, Shermon Lewis along with batter Keacy Carty.

Jason Holder has been rested following his involvement in IPL 2022, while Evin Lewis did not make the cut after failing Cricket West Indies’ fitness criteria.
