Watch: Australia skipper Pat Cummins took a remarkable catch to dismiss Pakistan’s Azhar Ali for 78, snaring a one-handed return grab on day three in Lahore.
In the third Test between the two sides, Pakistan were steadily taking the game away from Australia with their resolute batting. They added 69 runs in the morning session without losing a wicket. Abdullah Shafique departed with the team total at 170, but Babar Azam and Azhar continued Pakistan’s charge.
It then took a special effort from Cummins to get Azhar. The middle-order batter received one on a fuller length and drove it straight back to the bowler. With the ball dying on him, Cummins showed remarkable reflexes to get into position before snaring it, and instantly flung it in the air, tumbling to one side before roaring in delight.
Mike Haysman on commentary said, “In the air…what a catch! What a catch that was. That was absolutely sensational from Pat Cummins, a remarkable catch.”
Pakistan were 214-3 after this dismissal, and 227-3 at Tea.
