After a comfortable 2-0 T20I series win, hosts New Zealand will battle West Indies again in the upcoming Test series – you can watch the live stream for the first NZ v WI 2020 Test below.

The first Test of the series takes place at Hamilton where New Zealand will be looking to extend their impressive recent home record and keep their hopes of qualifying for the World Test Championship final alive.

New Zealand haven’t lost a home Test in over three years and a 2-0 series win would take them top of the ICC Test rankings. Last winter, they won both of their home series, first prevailing 1-0 over England in a two-match series before going one better against India, the side then ranked number one in the world.

West Indies shouldn’t be taken lightly, though. In their most recent Test series against England, they upset the hosts in the series opener before the home side eventually fought back. Their recent record in New Zealand is wretched, however. Their last Test win on New Zealand soil came all the way back in 1995 in what was then the fourth largest margin of victory of all time. A side captained by Walsh claimed victory by an innings and 322 runs; Walsh took figures of 13-55 across the two innings.

The hosts won’t be at full strength, though, with the ever-reliable BJ Watling set to miss the first Test of the series through injury. The uncapped batsman Will Young is set to take his place in the side, with Tom Blundell tipped to take over wicketkeeping duties.
