New Zealand host South Africa in a two-Test series beginning February 4, 2024 – here are the complete squad lists for both teams for the NZ vs SA Test series.

The two teams will face each other for crucial points in the World Test Championship – South Africa are currently second on the WTC table, while NZ are third.

It will be South Africa’s first visit to South Africa since their 2022 tour, where honours were shared. New Zealand won the first Test by an innings and 276 runs, while South Africa won the second Test by 298 runs.

A completely new look, second-string team has been selected to travel to New Zealand, after all first-choice players were deemed unavailable due to their participation in the ongoing SA20 tournament. The team will be led by the uncapped Neil Brand, with a total of seven members in the squad who haven’t played Test cricket yet.

New Zealand

The hosts named a full-strength team for New Zealand’s visit, led by Tim Southee and plush in experience. Kane Williamson, their former captain who is recovering from injury, has been named in the squad. Rachin Ravindra has been recalled to the Test setup after a memorable ODI World Cup in 2023, while pace bowler Will O’Rourke has earned his maiden call-up. However, O’Rourke will be considered for the second Test only.
