The tour will comprise a single T20I to be followed by three ODIs. A number of first-choice New Zealand players will not be a part of this series, having opted for to play in IPL 2022 instead. This tour will be a great opportunity for the Dutch side to put up a challenge before a Test-playing nation.
The ODI series also carries ICC Cricket World Cup Super League points. Netherlands are presently placed at the 13th place with 25 points to their name after seven games, while New Zealand are placed one above at 12th place after three games.

This series is a golden opportunity for a number of fringe New Zealand players. The likes of Ben Sears and Scott Kuggeleijn will be at the helm with the new ball during the T20I. Uncapped Michael Bracewell and Dane Cleaver also make it to the New Zealand squad. The New Zealand side will be led by Tom Latham. This will be Ross Taylor’s final international series.
Otago player Michael Rippon will be available to play for Netherlands in this series.
