Watch: Suryakumar Yadav played a whole host of incredible shots on the way to his second T20I hundred, against New Zealand at the Bay Oval.

He was named Player of the Match for his 51-ball innings, driving India to a convincing win in the second T20I of the series.

Surya has broken all manner of records in T20Is in 2022 for the rate and consistency of his scoring, and he joined some exclusive list with his second century of the year. No player has hit more hundreds when not opening the batting, no player has hit more centuries in a calendar year, and no player has scored more hundreds off fewer than 50 balls.

All of Surya’s 360-degree skills were on show, with the cover boundary peppered, the fine leg boundary cleared with his trademark helicopter shot, and a staggering six lofted over third man, deliberately played off the front foot with an open face. Surya hit 11 fours and seven sixes in his blistering innings.
