Watch: Glenn Phillips took a one-handed flying catch to dismiss Marnus Labuschagne agonisingly short of his century on day two of the Christchurch Test between New Zealand and Australia.

Phillips, known for his on-field athleticism, pulled off another piece of fielding brilliance against Australia in the second Test at Hagley Oval, Christchurch. With Marnus Labuschagne nearing his 12th Test ton while batting with the tail, Tim Southee came to bowl the 61st over.

With two slips, wicketkeeper Tom Blundell up and Phillips positioned at gully, Southee induced an edge off Labuschagne’s bat. The ball flew towards Phillips, who leapt to his right to pluck it out of the air with his right hand. Phillips was fully stretched with both feet off the ground when he intercepted the ball. He landed on his shoulders to complete the catch. Labuschagne was out for 90 with Australia getting bowled out for 256 in reply to New Zealand’s 162 in the first innings.
