The auction for the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League is taking place today (December 19) in Dubai. Here is the updated list of English players sold at the IPL 2024 auction so far.

More than 300 players are in the final list for the IPL 2024 auction. The ten teams have 77 spots to fill, with a maximum of 30 of those available for overseas players. 

25 English players were named in the final auction list before the ECB withdrew Rehan Ahmed. All English players are expected to be available for the entire duration of the IPL despite England scheduled to play a T20I series against Pakistan clashing with the latter stages of IPL 2024.

Full list of English players sold at the IPL 2024 auction

Harry Brook (Delhi Capitals) – INR 4 crore

The talented England youngster was with Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2023 season after being bought for INR 13.25 crore in the auction. A poor season, however, where he amassed 190 runs at an average of 21.11, saw him being released. He became the first Englishman to be sold in the 2024 auction.

Chris Woakes (Punjab Kings) – INR 4.25 crore

Woakes has played only three seasons in the IPL, tasting little success. In 21 games, he has scored 78 runs and picked up 30 wickets and will get a chance to play in the IPL for the first time since 2021.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore (Rajasthan Royals) – INR 40 lakh

The uncapped wicketkeeper has played 169 T20s and will be turning for the first time in the IPL. He has been a T20 specialist and recently top-scored in the Abu Dhabi T20, making 368 runs in ten innings.

Tom Curran (Royal Challengers Bangalore ) – INR 1.5 crore

Curran was bought by RCB at his base price. He has struggled in the format, conceding over nine runs an over in T20Is and making runs at a strike rate of 114.28.

David Willey (Lucknow Super Giants) – INR 2 crore

Willey last played a T20I for England in October 2022. He has been economical in T20s, conceding 7.88 runs in 270 games and recently retired from international cricket after the World Cup.

Gus Atkinson (Kolkata Knight Riders) – INR 1 crore

Atkinson made his international debut this year and has impressed in his limited chances, picking 11 wickets in ODIs and 6 in the shortest format. Overall, he has picked 62 wickets in 45 T20 innings at an average of 19.62 and an economy rate of 8.77.
