The IPL auction is set to take place on December 19. Here are the five oldest players in the IPL 2024 auction list who will go under the hammer.

Three-hundred and thirty-three players will go under the hammer on December 19 for the IPL 2024 auction. 23 of those players have a base price of INR 2 crore. The youngest player in the auction is 17 years of age – South Africa’s Kwena Maphaka. Here are the five oldest players in the list.

Mohammad Nabi (Afghanistan) – Age: 39

Nabi, the off-spinning all-rounder from Afghanistan, is the oldest player to feature in the IPL 2024 auction list. He has played 17 games for the Sunrisers Hyderabad, picking 13 wickets at an economy rate of 7.14. His last IPL appearance came in 2021. He is listed at a base price of INR 1.5 crore this time.

David Wiese (Namibia) – Age: 38

Seam-bowling all-rounder Wiese, who had previously played for Royal Challengers Bangalore, will be the second-oldest player in the IPL 2024 auction. Last year, he was picked by the Kolkata Knight Riders and played three games. His base price this time around is INR 1 crore.

Jalaj Saxena (India) – Age: 37

A domestic stalwart from Madhya Pradesh who later switched base to Kerala, Saxena has been part of several IPL squads, including Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Delhi Capitals. However, he made his IPL debut only in 2021, for Punjab Kings. His base price for the IPL 2024 auction is INR 40 lakh.

Tanmay Mishra (India) – Age: 37

The Mumbai-born right-hand batter played international cricket for Kenya, including in the 2011 ODI World Cup. He has been part of the IPL before, being picked up by the Deccan Chargers for IPL 2012 and the Royal Challengers Bangalore for IPL 2014. His base price for the IPL 2024 auction is INR 20 lakh.

Ben Cutting (Australia) – Age: 37

Cutting, the Australian seam-bowling all-rounder, has appeared for four teams in the IPL: Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Kolkata Knight Riders. He’ll go under the hammer in set 12 in the IPL 2024 auction at a base price of INR 50 lakh.
