With 16 points from 11 matches, the Gujarat Titans are at the top of the points table in IPL 2023. A win from their remaining three matches will guarantee them a place in the Playoffs, while a second win will ensure a top-two finish and a Qualifier 1 berth.

Gujarat’s final three league matches will be against Mumbai Indians (in Mumbai on May 12), Sunrisers Hyderabad (at home on May 15), and Royal Challengers Bangalore (in Bengaluru on May 21). All these are night matches, scheduled to start at 7.30 PM.

With eight points from 10 matches, Hyderabad languish at ninth place, above only Delhi Capitals. At the same time, they are only two points behind fifth-placed Rajasthan Royals and three behind fourth-placed Lucknow Super Giants, so they are not out of this yet.

Hyderabad play their remaining matches against Lucknow Super Giants (at home on May 13), Gujarat Titans (in Ahmedabad on May 15), Royal Challengers Bangalore (at home on May 18), and Mumbai Indians (in Mumbai on May 21). Barring the last contest – a 3.30 PM affair – the others begin at 7.30 PM.

For their last league match at home, defending champions Gujarat will don a lavender jersey instead of their usual dark blue with streaks of light blue, to raise awareness about cancer.

Lavender typically represents oesophageal cancer, but is also used as an umbrella colour for all kinds of cancer.

In 2015, Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals) had also taken field in lavender. The initiative was led by Yuvraj Singh, a cancer survivor and a member of the team who had set up the YouWeCan Foundation, a non-profit organisation that works on cancer control in India.
