Watch: Ishan Kishan was bamboozled by Mukesh Choudhary in the opening over. The latter bowled a searing yorker on off stump, which caused Kishan to lose his balance and fall to the ground after his off stump was flattened.
The dismissal came on the fifth ball of the opening over of the Mumbai Indians’ innings. They had already lost Rohit Sharma, meaning that the onus was on Kishan to build a partnership. The wicketkeeper, though, played down the wrong line completely to a very full delivery that slanted into him on off stump before moving away a touch. Kishan could only have a waft at it as he fell to his knees, beaten completely.
Mumbai’s poor start to the game continued with Dewald Brevis being dismissed by Choudhary an over later. Apart from Brevis and Kishan, Choudhary also accounted for Rohit with a length delivery that got stuck into the surface. Suryakumar Yadav tried to counter-attack but was dismissed by Mitchell Santner in the 8th over, leaving MI tottering at 47/4.
