Indian Street Premier League: All you need to know about India’s new T10 league | ISPL 2024

Here is what you need to know about ISPL 2024, the 2024 edition of the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) – T10.

The Indian Street Premier League – T10 is a “pioneering Tennis Cricket League”, designed to “unite the finest local cricket talent in India” and create “a comprehensive platform for players to showcase their skills”. The ISPL “aspires to transcend boundaries and establish itself as an international platform, fostering the growth of future cricketing superstars while adding structure to the cricket scene in cities”.

In essence, it is a tennis-ball cricket tournament that will showcase street cricketers, “aiming to bring the raw energy and talent of street cricket onto the grand stage”.

ISPL 2024: Who is part of the core committee?

The ISPL has roped in Ravi Shastri, former Indian captain and head coach, as chief mentor. The core committee also consists of Mumbai Cricket Association president Amol Kale and BCCI treasurer Ashish Shelar.

ISPL: What is a Golden Ticket?

Interested tennis-ball cricketers can enroll themselves on the official site of the tournament and pay a sum to register before January 14, 2024.

Following this, they will receive a “golden ticket”, which will enable them to attend the trials at one of Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Srinagar between January 15 and 27.

What is the selection process?

The selection committee, headed by former Indian international cricketers Pravin Amre and Jatin Paranjpe, will shortlist cricketers during the trials at their respective cities and reward them with “green tickets” for the final trials in Mumbai.

At the final trials, the selectors will further narrow down the pool to 350 cricketers, who will be part of an auction pool. Eventually, 96 cricketers will be selected for ISPL T10 2024.
