The recently concluded T20I series between India and Sri Lanka produced some brilliant individual performances – here’s the combined India-Sri Lanka team of the series.

Ishan Kishan

105 runs @ 52.5, HS 89, S/R 147.88

Ishan Kishan’s blistering knock of 89, consisting of 10 fours and three sixes, in the first T20I helped India get to a match-winning total of 199. He was deservedly given the player of the match award for his efforts.

Pathum Nissanka

76 runs @ 25.33, HS 75, S/R 118.75

Despite failing in two out of three innings, the Sri Lanka opener was the fourth-highest run-getter in the series. His 53-ball 75 set a very solid base for Sri Lanka in the second T20I.

Shreyas Iyer

204 runs without being dismissed, HS 74*, S/R 174.35

The newly appointed Kolkata Knight Riders captain was the player of the series by some margin. He has put his case for a place in the T20 World Cup squad at the right time. His career strike-rate before the series was 132.96, while after his brilliant run in this series he stands at 141.43.

Sanju Samson

57 @ 28.5, HS 39, S/R 154.05

Sanju Samson’s exploits in the 13th over of the second T20I helped tilt the game in India’s favour. They needed 79 runs at a required rate of nearly 10 at the beginning of the over, and merely 8 runs an over by the time it finished. Still though, he didn’t quite grasp the opportunity afforded to him in the way he could have done.

Ravindra Jadeja

70 runs without being dismissed, S/R  189.18, Two wickets @ 32.15, Econ 8.12

Jadeja excelled in the challenge of batting up the order, playing an important role in the second T20I at Dharamshala. Only time will tell if this move will bear fruit against stronger opponents, but for now India will be happy with the all-rounder’s performance.

Dasun Shanaka

120 runs @ 120, HS 70*, S/R 196.72

While his side failed to get going in the series, the Sri Lanka skipper led from the front. He helped his side set competitive totals in the second and third T20Is.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Three wickets @ 15, BBI 2-9, Econ 7.5

Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s spell of 2-9 in Lucknow accounted for the Sri Lanka openers. The tourists didn’t recover from that start, and went on to lose the game by 62 runs.

Lahiru Kumara

Five wickets @ 22.6, BBI 2-31, Econ 10.43

The pacer was the only touring bowler to trouble the India batters in all three games but was also taken for runs. He got rid of Deepak Hooda in the third T20I with an absolute ripper, flooring his leg stump in the process.

Yuzvendra Chahal

Two wickets @ 19, BBI 1-11, Econ 5.42

The Haryana leg-spinner was at his best against Sri Lanka after an indifferent outing against West Indies. Given a chance in the first two games of the series, he was exceptional in Lucknow with his 1-11 in three overs before being economical once more in a high-scoring game at Dharamshala.

Avesh Khan

Two wickets @ 11.5, BBI 2-23, Econ 5.75

Avesh Khan made an excellent comeback after his quiet debut against West Indies last week. He got the ball to move around and took two wickets in the powerplay to help reduce Sri Lanka to 11-3 after four overs.

Jasprit Bumrah

One wicket @ 43, BBI 1-24, Econ 6.14

Bumrah picked up just one wicket in the series but was at his usual best in both of his appearances. His 1-24 at Dharamshala were exceptional figures on a good batting wicket. Together with Chahal, he ensured that Sri Lanka didn’t cross 200.
