Watch: Suryakumar Yadav hits first ball in international cricket for remarkable six

by Wisden Staff 2 minute read

Watch: India batsman Suryakumar Yadav produced a one-legged pull for six off the first ball he faced in international cricket, during the fourth T20I against England in Ahmedabad.

Suryakumar, also known as SKY, made his debut as part of the side which won the second T20I by seven wickets, but didn’t get the chance to bat on that occasion. Promoted to No.3 for his second appearance following Ishan Kishan’s omission due to injury, SKY took full advantage as he helped a short ball from Jofra Archer over the fine leg boundary even as he lifted his front leg into the air.

The shot drew comparison to Gordon Greenidge from commentator Michael Atherton for its flamboyant nature.
