Watch: Chris Jordan produced one of the great fielding efforts to dismiss Suryakumar Yadav in the fifth T20I against India, and didn’t even get his name in the scorebook to show for it, with Jason Roy there to complete a sensational relay catch.

While boundary-juggling efforts have become commonplace in top-level cricket, such are the standards of modern fielding, Jordan’s effort was still special. Running at full pace on the midwicket fence, Jordan claimed a one-handed stunner before lobbing a perfectly aimed throw to his England teammate as he crossed the rope.
Roy had very little to do, and laughed at the absurdity of Jordan’s effort as he claimed the catch.
“Oh my word, my word that is ridiculous,” said Nasser Hussain on Sky Sports commentary as David ‘Bumble’ Lloyd laughed. “That is just ridiculous, Chris Jordan. That is unbelievable.”
Jordan’s nonchalance was also remarkable, though perhaps his lack of celebration was down to the fact that he knew the credit for the catch would go to Roy. There has been a movement to have the names of assisting fielders credited on the scorecard, and efforts like Jordan’s only add more examples of why an adjustment is required.
