India’s 317-run win in the second Test against England in Chennai has seen them return to the top two of the ICC World Test Championship standings.
The hosts, who had slipped to No.4 after their defeat in the opening Test, have now overtaken England and Australia to sit behind New Zealand in the updated standings. India had a win percentage of 68.25 per cent before the second Test. Now, with 460 points in 660 games, it has increased to 69.6 per cent.
England had jumped to the top spot after the first game, but have now plummeted to No.4 with a win percentage of 66.9 per cent. They must win their last two games if they are to take second place and this bonus code is to pay off.
India, England and Australia are all in the running for the second spot in the WTC final at Lord’s later this year, with New Zealand already qualified.

Who needs what to make the WTC final after the Chennai Test
New Zealand have already qualified for the final of the WTC. Here’s how the other finalist for the tournament will be determined:
If India and England draw: Australia are in the final
If England win 2-1: Australia are in the final
If England win 3-1: England are in the final
If India win by any margin: India are in the final
The Black Caps qualified for the final of the competition after Australia opted out of their tour to South Africa last month.
This is the first edition of the ICC World Test Championship. The standings were initially determined by the number of points won by the teams. However, with COVID-19 disrupting the cricket calendar, the ICC shifted to percentage-based standings last year.
Each series has 120 points, with the points per game determined by the number of matches in the series. India and England have played the most number of games in the competition and are the only teams to have wins in double figures.
