Watch: India wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel sprinted and gathered the ball brilliantly to run out Ben Duckett on day four (February 18) of the third Test against England in Rajkot.

India declared on 430-4 with an insurmountable 556-run lead in the second innings, thanks to Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 236-ball 214 not out that shattered several world records. Chasing the steep target, England lost their in-form opener Ben Duckett for four, the credit for which should go to debutant Dhruv Jurel’s brilliant athleticism behind the wickets.

Having got an inside edge off Jasprit Bumrah in the seventh over of England’s innings, Duckett set off for a single even though his partner Zak Crawley did not seem interested. Mohammed Siraj intercepted the ball from the inner ring at cover and fired a throw towards Jurel, who anticipated the throw, collected it, and dislodged the stumps in one fluid motion as Duckett fell short of his crease by a mile.

Jurel was congratulated by his teammates for his stupendous effort as the run out triggered a collapse in which England were folded for 122 runs at the end of the day’s play. As a result, India went 2-1 up, with two matches left.
