India won the five-match T20I series against Australia 4-1. Here are the player ratings for every Indian player who featured in the series.

Among the 17 players involved in the Indian squad across the five T20Is, only two didn’t play a single game – Shivam Dube and Washington Sundar. Here are the ratings out of ten for the rest of the 15 players.

Ruturaj Gaikwad – 8/10

223 runs @ 55.75, SR 159.28, 1 fifty, 1 hundred

Gaikwad was the top run-getter in the series. No other batter scored more than 200 runs across the five games. His hundred in the third match, the first of his T20I career was the highlight of his series.

Yashasvi Jaiswal – 7/10

138 runs @ 27.60, SR 168.29, 1 fifty

Jaiswal gave India quick starts in most games but wasn’t able to go big as often as he would have liked.

Shreyas Iyer – 7/10

61 runs @ 30.50, SR 138.63, 1 fifty

Iyer played the last two games of the series. His crucial half-century on a sticky Bengaluru wicket helped India get to a defendable total.

Suryakumar Yadav – 6/10

144 runs @ 28.80, SR 160, 1 fifty

In his first assignment as captain at international level, Suryakumar Yadav started with a bang in Visakhapatnam, scoring a match-winning 80 in a record run-chase for India. He didn’t have many significant contributions after that, however.

Ishan Kishan – 7/10

110 runs @ 36.67, SR 144.73, 2 fifties

Batting out of position at No.3, Kishan adapted well to score two fifties from the three games he played in.

Tilak Varma – 6/10

50 runs @ 50, SR 138.88, 0 fifties

Varma did not have a huge role to play in this series. Batting in the middle order, he struggled in the first match, before redeeming himself with quick cameos in the next two. He didn’t play the last two matches of the series.

Rinku Singh – 9/10

105 runs @ 52.50, SR 175, 0 fifties

Rinku Singh was the star of the series for India in the finisher’s role. He took India home in a tense finish in the first game, before following it up with a 31-run cameo off just nine balls in the second. He missed out on his first T20I fifty in the fourth game, getting dismissed for 46 off 29 balls.

Jitesh Sharma – 9/10

59 runs @ 29.50, SR 168.57, 0 fifties

Jitesh stayed true to his intent-merchant character, taking the Australian bowling on in the middle overs in the fourth and fifth matches of the series. He has given India a middle-order wicketkeeping option for the 2024 T20 World Cup, opening up various combinations for the team.

Axar Patel – 8/10

33 runs @ 11, SR 117.85
6 wickets @ 20.66, ER 6.20

Returning from injury, Axar was back to his best with the ball in this series after having lost his rhythm for a while. His spells of 3-16 and 1-14 in the last two matches went a long way in helping India seal those games. With the bat though, he didn’t have much of an impact.

Ravi Bishnoi – 8/10

9 wickets @ 18.22, ER 8.20

Bishnoi more or less cemented his place as the first-choice spinner for India in this format. Often called in to bowl difficult overs inside the powerplay, Bishnoi more often than not delivered for India, giving them timely and important breakthroughs.

Avesh Khan – 4/10

2 wickets @ 54.50, ER 9.08

Avesh was hit-and-miss with the ball, occasionally showing his potential before losing his radar and gifting runs. His 15-run over in the 18th over of Australia’s chase in the last match could have almost cost India the game.

Arshdeep Singh – 4/10

4 wickets @ 42.75, ER 10.68

Arshdeep was equally wayward as Avesh. Known for swinging the ball both ways, he rarely found his rhythm in the series, managing only four wickets. His last over in the fifth match where he defended ten runs came as a redemption of sorts for him in what was otherwise a forgettable series.

Deepak Chahar – 4/10

2 wickets @ 22, ER 11

Chahar made a solitary appearance in the fourth T20I, taking two wickets but going for 44 runs from his four overs.

Mukesh Kumar – 7/10

4 wickets @ 36.50, ER 9.12

Mukesh’s performance was better than the numbers suggest. He mostly bowled towards the end of the powerplay and at the death, two of the toughest phases for bowlers and held his own pretty well.

Prasidh Krishna – 2/10

4 wickets @ 39.75, ER 13.25

Krishna played three games in the series and was all over the place, going at well over two runs per ball.
