The dismissal occurred in the fifth over of the rain-reduced contest. The visitors had rattled along to 46-3 when Bumrah weaved his magic. The pacer bowled a devilish yorker that breezed past Finch’s defence. Finch tried to jam his bat down in time but was just not quick enough for India’s fast-bowling spearhead. After his stumps had been shattered, the Australia captain seemed to applaud Bumrah, who had comprehensively beaten the opener for pace.
Bumrah, though, could not keep his momentum going, conceding 23 off the two overs he bowled. Australia ultimately finished with 90 off their allotted quota. Matthew Wade starred for the hosts with a 20-ball 43.
