New Zealand squads for UAE and England T20Is | UAE vs NZ, ENG vs NZ

New Zealand squad for T20Is against UAE and England
by Wisden Staff 2 minute read

New Zealand have announced two separate squads for their T20I series against the UAE and England. Returning seamer Kyle Jamieson features in both sides.

New Zealand will play seven T20Is between August 17 and September 5, three against the UAE in Dubai, and four against England in England. Tim Southee will lead both squads.

For their first assignment in the UAE, they have called up two uncapped cricketers – Dean Foxcroft, 25, and Adithya Ashok, 20. Kyle Jamieson, too, returned to the international setup after recovering from injury and will be seen in action both in the UAE and in England.

A South Africa-born all-rounder, Foxcroft recently became eligible to play for New Zealand. He was a star performer in the previous domestic season, especially with the bat. Leg-spinner Ashok, on the other hand, was part of New Zealand’s Under-19 World Cup squad in 2020.

The squad to face the UAE bears a relatively new look, but it will be bolstered by the arrival of senior players as New Zealand travel to England for their limited-overs series which includes four T20Is and four ODIs.

There, they will have openers Finn Allen and Devon Conway, all-rounders Glenn Phillips and Daryl Mitchell, fast bowlers Matt Henry and Adam Milne, and leg spinner Ish Sodhi.
