Watch: Virat Kohli licks his lips after stroking James Anderson through the covers

by Wisden Staff 2 minute read

Watch: There are plenty who enjoy watching Virat Kohli batting, and it appears as if the India captain counts among that number, licking his lips after stroking James Anderson gloriously through the covers for four.

Kohli and Anderson’s rivalry has only heated up this series, a more equal encounter after the former dominated 2018 and the latter 2014. The India No.4 made his second half-century of the series in the first innings at The Oval, looking increasingly assured after falling for a golden duck in his first knock at Trent Bridge.

He unfurled his favoured cover drive to take him close to fifty, sending Anderson to the fence, with his immediate reaction as he set off for a – in the end unnecessary – run showing his pleasure, licking his lips as if to say, ‘Yes, that is very nice. I am very good at batting’. Tasty.
