Watch: Jonny Bairstow took a great overhead catch to dismiss Marcus Stoinis after the Australia all-rounder had carted a six and a four off the previous two balls, during their 2023 ODI World Cup match in Ahmedabad.

Australia made their way to 286 all out after being sent to bat, with Marnus Labuschagne top-scoring with 71.

Jos Buttler summoned Liam Livingstone to bowl the 44th over. After playing a dot on the first ball, Stoinis attacked the all-rounder, hitting him for a boundary and a six off the second and the third balls of the over.

Livingstone fired the fourth fourth ball in, bowling it flat. Stonis attempted to pull but didn’t get the desired elevation. Patrolling the mid-wicket region, Bairstow leapt following the trajectory of the incoming ball and plucked the catch out of thin air in the process. Livingstone looked pumped after avenging the twin blows.

Stoinis departed for 35 (32), smashing three fours and two sixes.
