Each team is set to play two warm-up matches each, with each side allowed to field all 15 squad players in the practice games.

Batting first, Pakistan put on 345-5 in their 5o overs: Mohammad Rizwan scored a century before retiring hurt, Saud Shakeel hit 75, while Babar Azam was dismissed on 80.

In response, Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway opened the batting for New Zealand, while Hassan shared the new ball with Haris Rauf.

Bowling the second over, Hassan struck first ball: the delivery pitched on the stumps and swung into Conway’s pads, who flicked it away, only to offer an easy catch to Mohammad Nawaz.

Conway was dismissed for a duck, but Ravindra, in the company of Kane Williamson, built a solid foundation for the chase. Before the game, a New Zealand Cricket update revealed that Williamson will miss the England-New Zealand World Cup opener, with the captain playing as a batter only in the warm-up match.

After 16 overs, New Zealand’s score read 119-1. You can follow the live score of the match here.
