Numerous record were broken during the New Zealand innings against Pakistan. Here are the statistical highlights from the 2023 World Cup match at Bengaluru.

When Rachin Ravindra brought up his half-century, he became the third New Zealand batter to get five fifty-plus scores in one World Cup edition, after Martin Crowe (1992) and Scott Styris (2007).

Ravindra went on to make 108 to go with his 123 not out against England and 116 against Australia. He became the first New Zealand batter, and eighth overall, to hit three hundreds in a single edition of the World Cup.

Rohit Sharma (five in 2019), Kumar Sangakkara (four in 2015), and Quinton de Kock (four in 2023) are the only ones to have got more, while Mark Waugh (1996), Sourav Ganguly (2003), Matthew Hayden (2007), and David Warner (2019) have also hit three.

Ravindra also became the first to score three World Cup hundreds before turning 25. Sachin Tendulkar, the man Ravindra is partly named after, is the only other person with two.

New Zealand’s score of 401-6 is their highest in World Cup history. They had made 393-6 against the West Indies at Wellington in the 2015 edition. However, their best in all ODIs remains the 402-2 against Ireland at Aberdeen in 2008.

This is also the highest by any side against Pakistan at the World Cup. Australia had put up 367-9 at the same venue earlier in this edition, though England’s 444-3 at Trent Bridge in 2016 remains the ODI record.

Haris Rauf conceded two sixes, which took his tally to 16 at the 2023 World Cup – the most conceded by a bowler in a single edition. The record was previously held by Tinashe Panyangara (15 in 2015).

With a 50-over cut-off, Rauf’s 6.79 is also the worst economy rate for a bowler in the 2023 World Cup and the third-worst in any edition, behind Mohammad Saifuddin (7.18 in 2019) and Panyangara (7.15 in 2015). In 2023, Shorful Islam (6.48) is next.

Rauf finished with 10-0-85-1, breaking Hassan Ali’s record (9-0-84-1 against India in 2019) for conceding most runs for Pakistan in a World Cup match. Later in the day, Shaheen Shah Afridi usurped Rauf’s record by conceding 10-0-90-0.

Hassan, meanwhile, became the 22nd Pakistani and 242nd overall to 100 wickets in men’s ODIs.
