India will preface their World Cup campaign with a practice match against England at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The match will begin at 2 pm local time and will be the first warm-up game that both teams play.
England will later take on Bangladesh at the same venue on October 2, while India will face Netherlands at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday, October 3.
India have made a last-minute change to their squad, including R Ashwin over Axar Patel in the 15-member group. Ashwin has played only four ODIs in the last six years, but his off-spin adds variety to the spin attack, while Axar is under an injury cloud.
England, on the other hand, have called up Harry Brook after initially ignoring him from the squad, with Jason Roy not getting selected.
