India – 1
1983 – the spark. 2011 – the glory.
2023 – the dream.

India’s kit has the potential to go down as an all-time World Cup classic. The rich blue-and-orange trim around the collar and sleeves compliments the white streaks on the top of the shoulders. With India tipped as favourites to go all the way in the competition, this jersey could be a third addition to their World Cup winning memorabilia.
Sri Lanka – 2

Sri Lanka’s jersey looks different to the darker tones they’ve gone with in recent tournaments. The touch of bright yellow along with the outline of the endangered sea turtle on the shirt puts a touch of fun into the kit, along with minimal sponsor emblazonment.
South Africa – 3

Simple, yet effective. Block green colour from South Africa with gold trim and the proteas logo etched in gold over the heart. The no-fuss approach makes this jersey an instant classic.
The Netherlands – 4

A burst of orange marks the Netherlands apart from the other teams in the tournament. It’s a kist we don’t get to see too often among the major players in the tournament, but in among a sea of different shades of blue, the Orange Army is unmistakable.
Bangladesh – 5

Bangladesh have stuck to their nickname, with tiger print featuring prominently on their jersey. The flecks of orange on the left side of the torso are an effective contrast to the deep green and are paired well with the bits of orange on their trousers.
Afghanistan – 6

Afghanistan have unveiled a markedly different kit to any they’ve worn before, and it can only be described as ‘busy’. The diamond pattern with red and blue dots gives the feeling of an optical illusion, and while it contrasts to every other kit in the tournament, it’s not an overly pleasing effect.
England – 7
Players. Fans. In the middle. In the stands. We’re WC ready 💪
— England Cricket (@englandcricket) September 28, 2023
Plain and simple, if a tad dull. From their iconic light blue 2019 kit which was a tribute to their 1992 jersey, their newest design is a bit disappointing. They also lose points for the design of the collar, which looks more akin to a football shirt than a World Cup jersey.
Pakistan – 8

Pakistan’s kit is again plain, but the lighter green stripes on the lower torso are fairly generic and look computer-designed.
New Zealand – 9

A fairly retro kit for New Zealand. The plain black is fairly standard and probably an improvement on the grey that’s krept into their kit in recent years, but the vertical stripes on the lower torso look like a football goalie’s jersey.
Australia – 10

Australia come in at the bottom of the list, mostly for the shade of yellow on their shirt. It’s faded in comparison to the brightness of their recent kits, and apart from that is plain. Not one of the better kits for the five-time champions.
