Winning the toss and batting first, the Tallawahs put up a strong total of 178-7 after suffering an early collapse. Three of their top five scored in single digits. At the 11-over mark, their score read 65-5 and their innings seemed to be going nowhere.
That was when the lower order stepped up for the Tallawahs. Raymon Reifer (28 off 22), Shamar Springer (38 off 27), Fabian Allen (33 off 18), and Chris Green (9 off 3) took the score beyond 175, adding more than 110 runs in the last nine overs.
In response, the Patriots were rocked early by the Pakistan duo of Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir. Wasim first removed Evin Lewis in the second over before Amir got his first breakthrough of the night in the form of Andre Fletcher in the third over.

Coming back for his second spell in the 16th over of the innings, Amir then got George Linde caught behind, before taking two more wickets in the first three balls of the 18th over, those of Yannic Cariah and Oshane Thomas.
Thomas’ was the last wicket to fall for the Patriots as Ashmead Nedd was absent hurt and did not come out to bat, ending the Patriots’ innings at 119 and handing the Tallawahs a 59-run victory.
Amir finished with 4-19 from his 3.3 overs, making it the first time he took more than three wickets in an innings in a CPL game.
